Crypto Lawyer in Latvia — Legal Advice on Crypto-Assets

DONE is a specialised legal practice working exclusively in crypto — tax, transactions, licensing, and disputes. A decade in legal practice and seven years on-chain: we use the wallets, protocols, and exchanges ourselves, so the conversation starts with your question, not with explaining the basics.

What a crypto lawyer helps with

Tax and reporting

Capital gains, declarations in EDS, and bringing past years' transactions in order.

Why a specialist, not a general firm

For a general practice, a crypto matter is usually the first of its kind — and the learning happens on the client's bill. In crypto, mistakes are expensive: a misreported year, an irreversible transaction, a missed licensing deadline. We work in this environment every day, legally and hands-on, so we see the risks that are easy to miss from the outside.

Frequently asked questions

Is DONE a firm of sworn advocates?

In Latvia, the status of a sworn advocate (zvērināts advokāts) is separately established and regulated. DONE is not a firm of sworn advocates — it is a specialised legal practice. For most crypto matters — advice, transactions, tax filings, licensing — advocate status is not required. Where a matter does call for it, we bring in partner advocates.

How much does a consultation cost?

It depends on the scope of the question. We agree the scope and the fee before any work starts, so the invoice is never a surprise. A short email describing your situation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Can you help if past years were never declared?

Yes — we help reconstruct transaction history and bring past periods in order. Our step-by-step guide to declaring crypto income is a good place to start; for anything non-standard, it is safer to get advice before filing.

Do you only work with clients in Latvia?

We work across Latvia and the EU, remotely or in person in Riga. Languages: Latvian, English, and Russian.

Will my information stay confidential?

Yes. Sensitive matters are handled discreetly under clear data-handling principles, and every engagement begins with a conflict check.
